The New Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) are regulations designed by Health Canada to give Canadians legal access to medical cannabis.
The ACMPR do not contain any limitations on the conditions for which a health care practitioner can support the use of cannabis for medical purposes.
Patients must register with a Licensed Producer (LP). Licensed Producers are private companies that have been approved and are regulated by Health Canada to dispense medical cannabis.
Once Agrima Botanicals has obtained the ACMPR sales license, you can then proceed to register with us. Upon completing registration you can view our products through our website. Ordering can then be done online once logged into your personal account.
Dried cannabis will be shipped directly to you (or your physician, if requested) using a postal or courier service.
While there are no restrictions under the ACMPR on the daily amount prescribed to you, there is a possession cap of the lesser of 150 grams or 30 times the prescribed daily amount.
If the daily prescribed amount on your medical document is 1.0 gram per day, you can order and possess a maximum of 30 grams within a 30 day period.
If the daily prescribed amount on your medical document is 5.0 grams per day, you can order and possess a maximum of 150 grams within a 30 day period.
If the daily prescribed amount on your medical document is 10.0 grams per day, you can order and possess a maximum of 150 grams within a 30 day period.
Dried cannabis can only be shipped directly to you (or your physician, if requested).
Health Canada believes that secured mail delivery strikes an appropriate balance between individuals’ need for access and communities’ need for safety and security.
The ACMPR only permit the sale of fresh cannabis, dried cannabis and cannabis oil. However, there are no restrictions on how dried cannabis is to be ingested or inhaled, and patients may choose to use it, for example in foods or by vaporizing. Health Canada does not limit or recommend a particular method of administration.
Under the ACMPR, your proof of authority to possess medical cannabis will either be the label on the packaging or a separate document accompanying the shipment of dried cannabis from the licensed producer.
